What are Mini Micro Ring Hair Extensions?
Mini micro ring hair extensions are a smaller version of the classic micro ring attachment. They are small metal loops that are threaded through the extension and the natural hair, then clamped shut in order to secure.
They are the smallest, most undetectable hair extensions available. This allows us to safely and discreetly apply your hair extensions even to extremely fine hair.
Additionally, these extensions allow hair specialists to place hair extensions where previously they could not be applied. This means that clients with even the finest of hair are left with comfortable, seamless hair extensions, without the need for adhesives or bonds.
This is important as the harsh chemicals used in adhesives can cause damage to both your natural hair and to the hair extensions themselves. Which seriously reduces the lifespan of extensions.
With our specific attachment method alongside proper maintenance and aftercare, your mini micro ring hair extensions could last between 1 – 5 years!

How it Works - Our Process
At OA Salons, we ensure our end-to-end service is unmatched. Our team offers our clients high-quality services that are unparalleled to any other salon. The team will provide you with a comprehensive consultation to understand your desired look, custom colour blending services to ensure that your extensions are discreet and natural looking, and supply you with expert maintenance advice.
1 – Your initial consultation
Before your hair extension fitting, we provide a consultation appointment to discuss your desired look and the best options for your hair. We take into consideration the health of your hair, colour, length, and thickness.
2 – Hair extension creation
After your initial consultation, our team then creates your hair extensions. Once you have selected your chosen ponytails, our staff begins the process of creating your custom extensions.
3 – Hair extension fitting
Then, it is time for your hair extension fitting. This process takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Your natural hair is first prepared by one of our experienced stylists before the extensions are fitted using mini micro rings.
4 – Ongoing maintenance and re-fitting
Once they are fitted, that is not the end – with proper maintenance and care your extensions can last up to five years! However, they need to be taken out and refitted every two months.
Mini Micro Ring Hair Extensions FAQ
With the combination of our mini micro ring attachment method and high-quality Russian hair, you can expect your extensions to last between 1 and 5 years. However, mini micro rings require more maintenance. This will be the main factor in the longevity of your extensions.
We always advise clients to attend a free check-up after a month and then book in for maintenance appointments every 2 months afterwards. Extensions, including mini micro rings , should not be worn for longer than 2 months without refitting. This is because your roots will begin to tangle and your extensions could potentially get damaged.
Mini micro rings are completely damage-free when they are fitted properly by a reputable hair extension technician.
The reason why mini micro ring hair extensions do not cause any damage is because glue or any other harsh chemicals are not used to form the bonds between the extension and natural hair. Instead, the hair is simply slotted into the mini micro ring along with the extension and then clamped shut.

Due to this, they are an investment. Mini micro ring hair extensions can cost between hundreds or thousands – it all depends on the quality of the extensions and the expertise of the person fitting them.
We recommend washing your mini micro hair extensions with Neal and Wolf products only. This is because we have tried and tested them, and we believe they are the best to use. Not only this, but they are sulfate, paraben, TEA, DEA and cruelty-free!
You should smooth the shampoo down the hair extension, rather than rubbing vigorously, and make sure that you have rinsed thoroughly to prevent product build-up. Avoid applying conditioner to the bonds of your mini micro hair extensions. This could cause slippage, and they may need to be refitted. When conditioning your hair, smooth it from the mid-lengths of your hair down to ends.
You should wash your mini ring micro hair extensions 2-3 times per week.

Because of the rings, it allows our team of experts to insert the extensions in places where they could not usually be applied on thin hair.

There are a number of ways to take care of your mini micro hair extensions that we recommend.
It is important to prolong the time between having your hair extensions fitted and washing your hair. This is because it allows the tips to fully harden, and the bonds are strengthened between your hair and the extensions themselves. This is why we advise clients to refrain from washing their hair for 2-3 days after fitting.
- If you use sunbeds, you should ensure that your hair is wrapped in a towel beforehand as the heat can melt the bonds and dry out the hair.
- If you work out or use saunas/steam rooms often, ensure that you dry your hair thoroughly afterwards as soon as possible. This is because if the bonds remain damp for a period of time, they can begin to deteriorate.
- If you choose to go swimming, braid your hair before getting into the water and try to keep your head above the water. Rinse your hair thoroughly with fresh water afterwards and detangle it using a wide-tooth comb.
